The Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium are know for its legendary musical moments but they missed a big one in 1954. \u00a0The reaction\u00a0was probably like the Back to the Future Johnny B Goode scene<\/a>\u00a0“I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, but your kids are going to love it”<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Ryman<\/h2>\n

On October 2, 1954, a teenage\u00a0<\/span>Elvis Presley<\/a>\u00a0made his only Opry performance at the Ryman Auditorium<\/a>. The music icon performed on the famous stage in the very early part of his career, debuting his high-energy brand of rockabilly with \u2018Blue Moon of Kentucky.\u2019\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0It was his first live performance on a “national” radio broadcast.\u00a0<\/span>He had just recorded his first record at Sun Studios \u00a0“That’s All Right Mama” just a few weeks prior.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
